Schmelson "Rollin' That Thunder"

from Halcyon Tone vol. 1: Reflection by Halcyon Tone

/

about

Rollin’ That Thunder is Schmelson’s debut single on Halcyon Tone Records; a ’70s inflected track reminiscent of the warmness of the better Wings moments, or the grooves of the blue-eyed soul movement. Despite it’s groove, the song’s lyrics indicate a haunting sense of soul-stricken bewilderment.

lyrics

Sat on a crumbling wall

In the town that I used to call my home

How did I get so far

From the things and the people I used to know?

The boy that I was couldn’t be

The man that I have become

‘Cause time changes everything

And no one can be forever young

There must be another way home from here

Must be another way from here

Must be another way home from here

Must be another way

Keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on

Rollin’ that thunder

Keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on

Rollin’ that thunder

Keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on keep on

Rollin’ that thunder
